Frejus is brand which really has played a major role in the heyday of Italian cycling.
Founded in 1896 by Emmo Ghelfi in Turin, the company embodies the most prestigious Italian heritage. It was subsequently acquired by Emilio Bozzi - owner of Legnano. Truly handcrafted and equipped just with the best components, Frejus bikes led a young Gino Bartali to his first victories in the 1930s.
Many avid collectors out there have dreamed to own and ride such classy bicycles. This Frejus Corsa stems from the end of 1940s, possibly early 50s and was designed as a pure racing bike, which will excell on almost any road. It comes with surprisingly steep angles for its time thus is a quite swiftly handling machine. The frame has an unusual set of oiler ports at the bottom bracket and the head tube.
It is equipped with the famous rod-operated first Campagnolo shifting, the so-called Campagnolo Cambio Corsa.
This beautiful piece can enlarge any serious collection and is absolutely good enough to be ridden at historic cycling events.
