Description
The Dutch Gazelle for many years has been one of the largest bicycle companies in the world. Additional to a number of other models, they also produced a famous professional-level road bike range. Since cyclocross has always been extremely popular in the Netherlands, the CX models couldn't miss from the offer. In the late 80s and early 90s the top model was called Champion Mondial Cross and it is clear from the first sight that this is a great frame.
Our Gazelle Champion Mondial Cyclocross bike is based on light Reynolds 531 Competition tubes. There are countless fine details as you would expect from a top-level Gazelle frame. The microfusion seat lug cluster, the semi wrap-around seat stays, Cinelli bottom bracket shell or the Campagnolo dropouts speak for themselves.
A top notch frame deserves components which are en par and our Gazelle has just that. It is fitted with Shimano Dura-Ace parts which are completed by a Cinelli cockpit, a beautiful Suntour seatpost and unsurpassed Suntour bar-end shifters. Then of course, there is the wheelset. Extremely smooth Mavic hubs are laced to excellent Mavic rims which we fitted with super supple Challenge Baby Limus tyres on top. To be frank, It is hard to imagine a better setup.
If you are looking for an expertly made and fast bike which is well suited for some rougher terrain, this fiery red Gazelle is certainly a great choice.
