Description
Gios Torino is one of the icons of cycling. Founded back in 1948 by Tolmino Gios, company which produces high quality and hand made bikes still exists in Volpiano, near Turin and the legendary models like legendary Super Record still leave the workshop to this day. One of the newer additions to the product line was the Eridania. It was an answer to still growing popularity of gravel biking, but instead of building a bikepacker's dream with long wheelbase and array of various mounting points, they merged the gravel idea with what Gios had an immense expertise in - cyclocross. Who wouldn't know the pictures of Roger de Vlaeminck of team Brooklyn navigating through terrain on his deep blue Gios Torino?
The result is a very nimble frame which feels a lot like a thoroughbred road bike, and when the mood takes you, unpaved roads will be no problem for you. The frame takes wide tyres, Campagnolo cyclocross brakes will cope with mud and grit and you can still mount mudguards, front and rear rack for your multiple day adventure. Yet it still looks like a vintage racer with the chromed details, lugs or the fork crown with coins known from the Super Records of the late 70s.
Gios Torino Eridania is a well balanced bike which you can enjoy practically everywhere and the Campagnolo Veloce groupset with wide range of ratios underlines it.
