Description
In the 1970’s, Giorgio Perfetti’s Brooklyn Gum Company sponsored a race team and supplied his riders with Gios Torino bikes, having them painted the same blue as the team jerseys. So just like Ferrari Red and Bianchi Celeste, the vast majority of Gios Torinos from the 1970’s and 80’s are Brooklyn Blue.
But not this one. Manufactured between 1983 and 1986 with Columbus SL or SP tubes, the Gios Torino Professional was a natural evolution of the legendary Super Record model. Different production years saw different color schemes. Classic blues, anniversary reds, and then, the rarest of the rare introduced in 1985: deep, dark black with chromed forks. This is one of those rare bikes, still dressed in original paint and decals.
The Professional is mainly recognisable for its lug design coupled with internally routed and waterproof cables, which were designed and patented by Mr. Aldo Gios. The groupset is one of the finest of its time, a Campagnolo C-Record, with wheels built on Campagnolo rims, Cobalto brakes and Almarc leather bar covers.
Thoroughly checked in our workshop. And it is Eroica approved, so get ready to show her off to the hometown team in Gaiole in Chianti, and then break some hearts when you take it home.
