Description
The Gios Professional was a bike developed by Gios and the famous rider De Vlaeminck. It was a really fine design, which meant a leap forward from the former Super-Record model. The fork was Aero-tapered. The lugs were pretty advanced and so were the waterproof internally routed brake cable.
On the way to the final outcome of the model, there were several prototypes which lacked one or the other feature of the ultimate Professional.
One of these bikes is our Gios Torino Professional Prototype Campagnolo 50th Anniversary
Before the final model was presented to the world in 1983, this frame was built much like its successor, but without the internally routed rear brake cable, which was added later in 83.
And as if this would not make it rare enough, our bike comes with nothing less than the renowned superbeCampagnolo 50th anniversary groupset from 1983 (serial no. 1014), which together with the frame forms an excellent, reliable and agile sportster.
The sought-after groupset and the rare type of frame turn this bike to a rare and collectible racer.
Thoroughly checked, this bike is of course suitable for L'Eroica or other historic cycling events.
