Description

The distinct blue which marks most of the Gios Torino bicycles evokes nostalgia for a time when great riders like De Vlaeminck, Sercu, de Wolf and others would secure victories on blue steel. The Gios Super Record has a magnificent pedigree, and is one of the most winning and admired bikes of all time.

The history of the Gios brand begins in 1948 when Tolmino Gios opened a small bicycle workshop in Turin, Italy. Tolmino was a former professional cyclist, having raced in the Giro d’Italia – winning the Gran Premio Camandona – and he sought to translate his racing experience into a series of thoroughbred bicycles. His son, Alfredo, worked alongside him and it was Alfredo who matched the distinctive blue of the Brooklyn professional cycling team to the finely built frames they would ride.

Our Gios Super Record from 1981 or 1982 has been recently repainted by Gios and so the colour is robust and bright on the quality Columbus SL tubes. Fitted out with a complete Campagnolo Super Record Groupset from 1982 in mint condition, including a pantographed seat post and chainring. The Cinelli cockpit creates wonderful contrast with a black stem and brilliant white tape and tops off this elegant road bike.

Our mechanics have fully serviced and checked the bike and all parts and it is in top condition, ready for the road and the next adventure.
