Description
The Gios name is one of the great pillars in Italian cycling history and culture, and the Gios Torino Super Record is a true monument of its time. Manufactured between 1973 and 1982 in three main different versions, the Gios Torino Super Record is - thanks to great riders like De Vlaeminck, Sercu, de Wolf and others - one of the most winning and most admired racing bicycles of all time.
Built with light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes ever since, the first models were built between 1973 and 1977 and ridden by the Brooklyn professional team. Ours is an earlier bike from around 77-78. This bike was built with a custom geometry featuring a shorter top tube than usual. It might even have been a professional's frame. Unfortunately it not possible to tell that for sure, since the original top tube decal is missing.
The fantastic details like the cutout under the bottom bracket and the engraved fork crown remain.
Regarding the components, this Gios Torino is of course equipped with a Campagnolo Record groupset including a typical Gios engraved chainring.
All parts underwent a thorough check in our workshop and include a fine set of Campagnolo Superleggeri Pedals which means that the bike is ready to be ridden.
If you are looking for a classic Italian bicycle with racing pedigree, this Gios Torino Super Record is the right choice. Iconic and terrifically elegant!
