Giovannini Super Record Professional Road Bike from the 1980s.
Giovannini is one of those small Northern Italian brands which specialised in road bikes. They started off pretty well in the last years of the bike boom and disappeared in the 1980s.
Our bike is one of their later exemplars. Actually this model, the Super Professional was their top model. Its frame consists of Columbus SL tubes and microfusion lugs. Take a look at that nice cut-out Cinelli bottom bracket shell! The semi-horizontal dropouts are also pretty advanced for that time.
For a bike that is called a 'Professional', you need professional parts, of course. So the obvious choice has been the favoured groupset of professional riders from all over the world. In those days it meant nothing less than the Campagnolo Super Record gruppo.
The frame has been refurbished by the original owner and now it looks like new.
