Gitane – a name which means 'Gypsy Lady' in French – is a brand which was synonymous with French bicycle racing from the 1960s through the mid-1980s, sponsoring riders such as Jacques Anquetil, Lucien Van Impe, Bernard Hinault (1975–1983), Laurent Fignon, and Greg LeMond
Gitane not only produced high-end racing bikes but also reliable and stable city bicycles with a very solid reputation amongst commuters. This particular Gitane Steel Racing bike is a classic lugged model in an adventurous black and fluo green paint. The frame has been made mainly from sturdy Columbus Gara tubes with an internally routed rear braking cable.
