Description
Founded by Silvino Grandis in 1965, Grandis is an Italian manufacturer from Verona which still produces high-end racing bicycles today. Everything started in 1930, when Silvino built his first frame, though he started selling bicycles under his name only after 35 years in the business. Ever since then, his bicycles have been admired by cyclists and collectors around the globe.
Grandis Overmax has been the absolute top model of the 1990s. Its frame is based on Columbus Max tubing, but it has been heavily customized for Grandis. The tubes of the main triangle are ovalized on one end, but with a circle cross section on the other. They also have a slight cigar shape, further improving stability of the frame. But it's not just sheer quality of the tubes what makes Overmax special. It has been manufactured with astonishing attention to detail. You can find pantographes on the fork crown, bottom bracket or brake bridge, but also on quite unusual places like the rear of front dropouts and head tube. And a true party piece is the seat lug, which is not just beautiful but also integrates the outtake for the brake cable.
Such high performance frame deserves proper parts and our Overmax is equipped with Campagnolo parts with 8-speed shifting with Ergopower controls on the bars. It is then completed with Deda cockpit, Mavic rims and carbon seat post.
An advanced bike which combines technical and aesthetic side on the highest level.
