Description
This Koga Miyata Road-Racer from 1978, is a very appealing sportster. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Koga team was very successful and even won the UCI team worldcup in 1981. Their success ended up in one of the company's slogans: "From the factory to the starting line!"
The 1978 frame was built by Miyata, a company which has been in the bicycle business since 1890 and employed some of the best frame builders. But not only the employees were special at Miyata. A hallmark of all their bikes was the tubing which was bought from Tange in the beginning and was later on produced in-house. All their tubing was always of tremendous quality. As a result, Koga Miyata proudly started to grant a lifelong guarantee on the frames.
This frame here is made of great Tange Champion double butted tubes. On top of the perfection there is beauty. Clean lugs and chromed stays make this Koga Miyata a feast for your eyes.
The bike has a classic racing geometry and is fully equipped with high class Shimano parts from the 600 and Dura Ace series, which turn this bike into a seriously performing machine. And the 28t freewheel will be pretty helpful if you have to face some hills.
If you are looking for a great performing classic racing bike for weekend rides or classic cycling events, then why not this very special Koga Miyata?
