Description
La Gazelle is a company based in Boulogne, France.
It was founded in 1906 and by today is run by the fourth generation of the same family: the Leroys.
The founder Fernand Leroy renamed the shop after his nickname 'Gazelle' when he reopened the shop after the first world war.
La Gazelle became one of the temples of cycling sport by offering the best products available and supporting the strong french cycling scene. Legendary Champions like Jaques Anquetil, André Darrigade and others had their bikes repaired here.
For several decades the family Leroy also brazed their own frames. They were made in small numbers from steel in extremely nice shapes and in a quality that stood in the tradition of the great french frame building tradition.
Here we offer you one of these bikes. It is a La Gazelle from 1986. The details of the frame are just breathtaking. Just look at the routing of the rear braking cable inside a crimping of the top tube or the smooth, fillet brazed connections!
The bike is of course equipped with a whole load of french parts. Mavic, Mafac, Sachs, Simplex. It's the who is who of french quality parts.
Our La Gazelle is the right choice for someone who wants a bike that is a bit different and very well performing. A bike which is as unique as you are!
