Description

In the heyday of classic cycling sports in Italy, Legnano was one of the most famous producers of fine bicycles. Legendary Champions like Gino Bartali, a young Fausto Coppi and many others rode to their fabulous victories on Legnano bikes.
Legnano's Top-Model in the 1960s was named Olimpiade Roma. And here you can see one which has the frame number 26!
The frame is built from special seamless drawn light tubes by Italy's then most famous provider of high end bicycle tubes - Falck. Remarkable is the typical Legnano seat lug which has a clamp under the top tube.
With which parts would you outfit such a bike? Right, Legnano did it, too. It is the best you could get. A complete Campagnolo Record groupset of the first generation, the hubs Legnano pantographed. Fiamme rims. The brakes by Universal Mod. 61. Stem and bar T.T.T.'s excellent Grand Prix model, again with pantographs. And, of course, a Brooks Professional saddle.
There is no doubt that this is one of the most competitive road bike models of its time.
