Description

Seven world championships, six Giro d'Italia, two Tour de France and two world hour records are enough to enumerate Legnano among the most winning - thus most prestigious - brands of all time. A brand which is also proud of being one of the oldest Italian manufactures (1902, Milano) and of having manufactured bicycles which still are true icons of the cycling industry.

The Legnano Roma was the Legnano top model from the 1930s onwards. The frame is a typical Legnano lugged steel frame made of Falck tubes with the very iconic saddle clamp under the seat lug, the main feature of all high-end bicycles from this Italian brand.

This exemplar dates back to 1951 and has been carefully restored and completely checked in our workshop. Beside extremely fine and period correct parts as CBI Brusati 700C wooden rims and Universal brakes, the cherry on the top is certainly the legendary Campagnolo Paris Roubaix gearing. This single-rod-operated Campagnolo gear was manufactured across 1950 and 1951 and was the successor of the double-rod-operated Cambio Corsa shifting, which both Coppi and Bartali used in the late 1940s Tour de France.

This Legnano Roma is more than a bicycle. It is a genuine piece of cycling history, a symbol of the Italian bike manufacturing at its finest.

Perfect to enrich a serious collection.
