Description

In the 1930s, Legnano was probably the most successful manufacture for road bicycles. Much of the success was due to some most iconic rides which ever raced on bikes - Alfredo Binda, Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi.

The Legano top model was called the Tipo 54. In honour of the triumph of Alfredo Binda in the world championship on the home soil, this model has been renamed to Roma Campione del Mondo. And it is a Legnano Campione del Mondo restored bicycle we present you here.

It is certainly a vintage bicycle which is searching for a place in a serious collection. The Legnano Roma has become an icon of the cycling history through the years.

The fact that Binda, Coppi and Bartali rode Legnano bicycles, are making the Legnano Roma simply a must-have for any vintage cycling enthusiast.

This Legnano Roma is a carefully refurbished piece. The frame is a typical Legnano lugged steel frame made of Falck tubes with the very iconic saddle clamp under the seat lug, the main feature of all high-end bicycles from this Italian brand. The colour is a tribute to the yellow Legnano Alfredo Binda rode to victory in 1938 Tour de France and which is now on display in Museo del Ciclismo Madonna del Ghisallo.

As shifting serves the legendary Cambio Vittoria Margherita in its later Giro di Francia version, which was used by Binda during his maiden TdF victory. Other highlights to be mentioned are the Universal brakes, original Legnano crank, Legnano; 170 mm; 49 ratioFB hubs, Ambrosio cockpit and Brooks saddle.

Whether you are looking for a bicycle to enrich your collection or simply want to ride a machine of a glorious brand, this Legnano Roma from the 1930s is the right choice! Valuable and collectible, for true connoisseurs!
