Look KG56 Génération 4 Composite Road Bike 1990

Come the 1980s, the French company Look startet to take over a leading role in bringing new high-tech solutions to the pro peloton. They became most famous for their clipless pedals and their composite frames - both of which you can find on our bike.
This model is the 1990 Look KG56 Génération 4, the first composite frame that was sold at the same price level as regular top steel frames. After years of testing Look finally felt secure to enter the mass market with this piece that was built from 60% unidirectional carbon fibre and 40% glass fibre. The lugged construction proved pretty safe and opened the door to the composite world for many amateur riders.
Our exemplar is in almost perfect condition because it has almost never been ridden. The frame is equipped with a complete Shimano Dura Ace groupset which is precise like a clockwork. The groupset with the first shifting brake levers, 8-speed shifting and the new double pivot brakes was introduced in the autumn of 1990 and went freshly from the presentation onto this frame.
You can easily say that this was a top notch bike of its time.
