Description

Magni Giuseppe - also known as Magni Peppino "Pep" - was an Italian pro-team mechanic. In the 1970s he started a business as bicycle manufacturer. His frames where mainly built by the expert hands of Giovanni - "Vanni" - Losa. The frame builder from Vittuone - a small city close to Milan - manufactured exquisite bicycles, probably most famously the Cinelli Supercorsa from the 1990s to 2008.

Like any other frame built by Losa, this Pep Magni illustrates refined triangular cutouts on the lugs and underneath the bottom bracket with a "V" shape to symbolise his nickname 'Vanni'. Pep Magni engravings complete the visual branding.
As for the tubes, this frame is made of light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes, the choice of most of the frame builders back in the 1970s and 1980s. The original faded 'retinato' grid pattern is in such a good shape that the last three decades seem to have left almost no trace.

Generally the frame is in very good condition.
The groupset which turns this machine into the fast racer that it is, consists of high class Chorus parts which had been freshly introduced in 1987.
The Campagnolo Super Record is as reliable as it is lightweight and precisely machined. A beautiful companion to this classic frameset.

This fine piece is perfectly fit to tackle some Eroica rides or weekend jaunts.
