Description
In the early 1980s Alberto Masi had a great idea. The idea to combine an extremely advanced oversized steel tubing with even more advanced internal lugs, hidden in the frame. After several experiments, in 1984, Masi Milano presented the first Masi 3V Volumetrica to the world.
His invention was an inspiration and starting shot for oversized tube frames all over the world. To this day the subtle and elegant construction does not seize to amaze the beholder.
What you can see here is one of those legendary 3Vs with a refurbished paintjob, whose colourway seems like a tribute to the famous motorsport team Gulf.
This racing bike has been equipped with a mix of fine Campagnolo parts like Record, Chorus or Veloce and the 8-speed shifting is operated from the Ergopower shifters on the bars. If that wouldn't be enough, the 3ttt stem has been pantographed with Alberto Masi's signature.
This piece is one of the finest Italian invention as far as steel road bikes of this era are concerned. A perfect visualisation of craftsmanship and class.
It is a reliable, strong road bicycle, suitable for any collection or to turn some heads on your Sunday ride.
