Description
Certainly one of the most typical classic bicycles you will find in many serious collections: the Alberto Masi Prestige is a true masterpiece by the famous Officina from Milan.
Produced between 1975 and the late 1980s, the Prestige is a sought after piece of cycling history. It was the first model, Alberto Masi designed on his own. It was meant to be a slightly modernised version of the Gran Criterium which was his father Faliero's signature bike. This exemplar dates back to 1978.
The frameset is most likely made of Columbus tubes (Masi never disclosed which tubes he actually used to manufacture his frames) and shows many refined details and a perfectly fine lugging, very typical for each Masi bicycle.
This suberb frame is married to a legendary groupset - the Campagnolo Super Record, the best groupset of this time. Nice parts like a pantographed 3ttt cockpit round things up, as does the original Masi frame pump.
The bike has been thoroughly checked and is now ready to be ridden. And not that the Masi bikes just look their part, they are also great to ride.
And be prepared to turn some heads wherever the road will lead you.
