Description
Certainly one of the most typical classic bicycles you will find in many serious collections: the Alberto Masi Prestige is a true masterpiece by the famous Officina from Milan.
Produced between 1975 and the late 1980s, the Prestige is a sought after piece of cycling history. It was the first model, Alberto Masi designed on his own. It was meant to be a slightly modernised version of the Gran Criterium which was his father Faliero's signature bike. This exemplar dates back to 1979 and sports a classic red paintjob.
The frameset is most likely made of Columbus tubes (Masi never disclosed which tubes he actually used to manufacture his frames) and shows many refined details and a perfectly fine lugging, very typical for each Masi bicycle.
This suberb frame is married to a legendary groupset - the Campagnolo Super Record. Together they are a perfect match and a terrific classic. Pantographs on brake levers, seatpost and stem plus branded saddle and air pump just add an extra touch of class.
But Masi bikes do not only look amazing, they also ride like a dream. Just the right balance between comfort and agility.
The bike has been thoroughly checked and is now ready for anything. Eroica? No problem! Long distance touring? Sure! Riding to the gelateria for some fine ice cream? Be ready to turn some heads!
