Description

Since 1952 the Masi Atelier - located at the famous Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan - has manufactured some of the most prestigious Italian bicycles of all time.

The Masi Special was the top notch of 1960s Masi bicycles and made under the supervision of Faliero Masi himself. Widely known as "The Tailor", Faliero Masi manufactured extremely refined steel frames which brought countless champions to epic victories. Thanks to the success in competition, Masi frames have appealed also to regular riders and collectors ever since, so much so that the Masi workshop in Milano has become a pilgrimage spot for many enthusiasts.

This particular Special has been fully refurbished and is fitted with a period-correct Campagnolo Nuovo Record Gruppo of the late 1960s. Since Acampagnolo did not manufacture brakes back then, this bike is equipped with fine Universal brakes. Furthermore we find Cinelli stem and bar, Fiamme rims and a Brooks leather saddle.

This is an outstanding and fully functional top class build. And about the best bike you could wish for in the second half of the 1960s.

The bike has been completely inspected in our workshop and is ready to be ridden.

No serious collection should miss a MASI.
