Description

Motobécane was one of the biggest bicycle producers in France and existed under this name from 1923 until 1984. Afterwards it became a branch of Yamaha and continued producing bicycles in France under the Name MBK.

In the 1980s MBK brought some very nice and modern steel bikes to the market. They sponsored famous professional teams and their design was unmistakeable.
Just like you can see on this MBK Mirage 18 which shares its name with a French jet fighter.

The rear triangle is slim and elegant with the seatstays flawlessly being connected to the back of the seatlug cluster. The seatpost clamping is hidden in the little angle between seat stays and seat tube. All connections between the tubes are almost seamless. Internal welding was the technique that made unusual constructions like these possible.

The bike is equipped with an all-French setup, including Motobecane's famous rubber wrapped handlebar and a triple crankset which makes riding in hilly terrains like at L'Eroica far more bearable.
A well made bike from a respected French company.
