Description
Cycles Mercier is a French bicycle manufacturer founded in 1919 by Emile Mercier in Saint-Etienne. The company produced steel lugged bicycles which became very popular particulary in the 70s and 80s. When bikes made of new materials like aluminium came along, Mercier wanted to enlarge it's offer and the best way to do so was to outsource them.
And so this Vitus 787 Futural road bicycle is branded by Mercier. This model was introduced in 1987 and the frame was made of aluminium tube connected by also aluminium lugs. It's distinctive sign is certainly the attractive incorporation of mono seat stay.
As for the components, it is equipped with a blend of Sachs and Campagnolo parts with a nice 3ttt cockpit or the blue Ambrosio anodized rims.
This bike has been checked, serviced and when needed, parts have been replaced for new ones.
