Description
From the factory to the starting line and vice-versa. This what has always distinguished the brand established by legendary Francesco Moser in the 1980s. The know-how learnt in professional racing helped the former Italian cyclist and his brothers to produce some of the finest racing bicycles of their time.
The Leader AX is a very sturdy racing bicycle. The fillet brazed frame is made of double butted Oria tubes and has a classic geometry with the twist of a prolonged seat tube which requires a special internally clamped seat post. Francesco Moser himself rode this model until he retired around 1987.
The fillet silver brazed joints form a significantly stiffer frame than TIG welds or lugs, jet they still sustain that subtle damping which you would expect from a steel frame.
The great characteristics of the Leader AX were partly responsible for the success Gianni Bugno had while riding it in 1990 and 1991. In these years, the frame helped him to secure the Giro d'Italia, the Italian Championships and the World Championships.
A frame like that deserves an excellent groupset which in our case is the perfectly performing Shimano Dura Ace.
One of the best Steel frames ever made married to one of the nicest groupsets. A match made in heaven.
