Description
Established in 1923 Motobécane was one of the most famous French manufacturers of bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, and other small vehicles. "Motobécane" is a compound of "moto", slang for motorcycle; "bécane" is slang for "bike."
They became more known to an international public by their sponsoring of professional teams and winning the Tour de France with their typical orange and later blue machines.
This elegant and reliable Motobecane C3 dates back to the 1970s and it still sports the original lime green paintjob. The frame is made of good stuff - Reynolds 531 double butted tubes, which are connected with nice lugs with long pointy tips. As for the parts, the Shimano 600 "Arabesque" groupset (with Dura-Ace cranks and brake levers) fits the late 70s bike perfectly. Some other parts are also made in Japan like the Hattaswan headset, Sakae bottom bracket or seat post. On top the wheelset consists of Super Champion rims and Alpin hubs.
Either to take part in Eroica events, to hit the daily bike path or to cycle to the next café, this Motobecane is a reliable choice. Without renouncing a vintage style!
