Description

Motobécane was one of the most famous French manufacturer of bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, and other small vehicles, established in 1923. "Motobécane" is a compound of "moto", slang for motorcycle; "bécane" is slang for "bike."

They became more known to an international public by their sponsoring of professional teams and winning the Tour de France with their typical orange machines.

This classic Motobecane Inter Club road bike from the 1970s is a quality example of French cycling history. Constructed using Reynolds tubing and Nervex lugs, the frame is of high standard; details illustrate the fine skills of Motobécane's frame-builders.

This model has been built with rough roads and steep climbs in mind. The unique setup includes a great TA triple-chainset wich with its smallest 32t chainring and the large 32t cog is helping you up even the steepest of climbs. While top quality 32mm Panaracer Pasela PT tires make sure, that you do not loose traction on gravel roads and cushion the roughest surface conditions.
Sunrace was way ahead of its competition when it came to derailleurs until the mid 1980s, when their patent on the slant parallelogram was running out. One of their fine shiftings is what is installed on this Motobécane. The classic Mafac brakes stop you safely and even leave enough room for a pair of mudguards if you feel the urge to have some installed.

Combining a frame like this with such components shows clearly that it does not always have to be Campagnolo to create the most useful Eroica bikes. No slipping wheels, no hurting knees. Just spin away the miles of your next challenge and enjoy the scenery.

This Motobecane is plain perfect for tackling the gravel of Eroica events around the world! Checked lubed and ready to go.
