Description

Nishiki was a bicycle brand created by the West Coast Cycle - one of the most successful American companies in the business. In the 1960s, the company started to look overseas, specifically Japan, to find high quality production for their bikes. The boss of the company visited many dozens of factories before choosing the Kawamura Cycle in the city of Kobe, Japan. The bikes were at first distributed under the name "American Eagle", later changed to Nishiki after the special thread woven into ceremonial wedding kimonos.

Nishiki bikes were produced in quite wide rage of models and levels and distributed basically all over the world - in the US, Canada, Europe and even Australia. Because of the monetary instability in the late 80s, the production has been moved from Japan to Taiwan.
This Nishiki Olympic Road Bicycle stems from 1980 and it is one of the bikes produced for the European market still in Japan. The frame is made of quality tubeset - Champion no.1 from Tange, which was comparable with the likes of Columbus SL. The frame is very nicely done with beautiful lugs and nice details. The parts also don't fall behind. You will find the top class Shimano Dura-Ace and more of nice Jpanese parts like Araya rims.
Completely checked by our mechanics in Berlin, the bike is ready to go.
