Description

The first bikes which were to bear the Eddy Merckx logo, were the Kessels Molteni bikes in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Nobody less than the Cahmpion himself rode them.
Unfortunatly Kessels made some cheaper, mass produced Eddy Merckx bikes some years later. Thus many people forgot about the professional bikes they once assembled.

A small manufacture, the family Vaneenooghe were amongst those who were producing for Kessels back in the early days. In the 1980s they made the bikes for the pro team Splendor, with riders as Sean Kelly, Eddy Planckaert and others.
Since the Company Vaneenoghe still exists and many of the parts from which the Eddy Merckx Kessels Molteni bikes had been brazed were still lying as old Stock in the Kessels factory, somebody had a splendid idea:
Why not build some 'original' Eddy Merckx Kessels from the few parts that were left?
No sooner said than done! - A very limited number of frames were built from the old lugs, tubes and dropouts. And here it is, the NOS Kessels Molteni frame made by Vaneenooghe. We decided to robe it with some nice old and NOS parts. The heart of which is the Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset.
This bike is something for nostalgic cycling fans. It is a unique bicycle candy.
