Description

In 1939, four years after setting the World Hour Record, Giuseppe Olmo, nicknamed "Gepin", retired from a successful cycling career. Straight afterwards he set up a bicycle manufacture in Celle Ligure together with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele. The traditional company is still in production today. During the years many excellent bikes have left Celle Ligure to win races all over the world.

The Olmo Competition formed the core of the road bike series. Our Olmo competition stems from approximately 1977 and it has many fine details to look at. Mainly the fine cutout lugs of which the ones on the head tube were chromed. The frame of light Columbus SL tubes has been refurbished and sports a fresh light blue paintjob with yellow accents of the decals, cable housing and the bar tape.

It is also equipped with high end and complete Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset with a nice detail of drilled chainring.

Finally the he wheels are a partypiece - consisting of record hubs and Mavic S.S.C. rims, they have the original team Splendor decals from the 1970s!

A fine Columbus frame with high class Campagnolo parts and a race-proven team Splendor wheelset - what is not to like?
