Description
In 1939, four years after setting the World Hour Record, Giuseppe Olmo, nicknamed "Gepin", retired from a successful cycling career. Straight afterwards, he set up a bicycle manufacture in Celle Ligure together with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele. The traditional company is still in production today. During the years many excellent bikes have left Celle Ligure to win races all over the world.
The Olmo Sintex from the late 1980s on, formed the core of the road bike series. Built with strong tubes in different versions during the late 1980s and early 1980s, the Olmo Sintex was meant to be used for serious racing.
This particular Olmo Sintex is in original condition and illustrates the typical investment cast fork crown and bottom bracket shell with Olmo engravings and cut-outs of the Competition series. The frame is made of light and sturdy Columbus SLX tubes and is equipped with a Campagnolo Chorus groupset. The groupset was freshly introduced in 1987 and soon became the best selling set of components from Campagnolo.
Interesting is also the paint of the bike. It is hard to tell, where the sudden admiration of Piet Mondrian in the cycling world came from. La Vie Claire and Olmo? Whatever the reason might be, we think it looks great!
The bike has been fully checked in our workshop and is ready to be ridden.
