Description

In 1939, four years after setting the World Hour Record, Giuseppe Olmo, nicknamed "Gepin", retired from a successful cycling career. Straight afterwards he set up a bicycle manufacture in Celle Ligure together with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele. The traditional company is still in production today. During the years many excellent bikes have left Celle Ligure to win races all over the world.

One of their top models in the 1980s was the Olmo Competition Leader. Belonging to the first aero experiments of the bicycle industry, this Olmo has been built with Columbus Air tubes – with beautiful fork blades and aerodynamic stays of the second generation – and a complete internal cable routing. Additionally, the down tube shifters were moved in closer together to save that extra watt or two.

A classic Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset with many Olmo pantographed parts complete this superb racing machine. The cherry on the top is the chroming on the lugs, fork and the complete rear stays.

It still sports the original blue paintjob with a classic 'retinato' pattern.

When decided to change some wearing parts for new ones so you can enjoy the bike fully. And so there are brand new quality components like the handmade Tufo tyres, Supercorsa saddle, chain, cables and so on.

Completely checked and serviced in our workshop by our expert mechanics, the bike is ready to ride.
