Description
Panasonic is widely known for electronics, but the production of bicycle frames started as soon as 1951. The bicycles became very popular, but just on the home Japanese market, where they were distributed under the original brand "National". In 1971 they began to be exported to USA. The brand National was a bit misleading of foreign markets, so the name Panasonic has been used instead. The production line was always quite wide from inexpensive city bikes to top level racing machines. The Japanese national team was repeatedly equipped with Panasonic frames for Olympic games.
This Panasonic DX-4000 road bicycle stems from 1989 according to the serial number 9D00506. This mid-to high range frame in white, red and blue is made of high quality Tange Triple butted steel tubes. The frame is really nicely made indeed with internal brake cable routing, Panasonic dropouts or nicely shaped brake bridge.
It is equipped with one of the most reliable but actually also pretty Shimano 105 groupset in dark grey finish. The whole bike is in very nice condition and it runs like a clockwork. You can really enjoy the authentic ride from 1989.
And as a bonus, you will get the matching aluminium bottle from the Swiss company Sigg.
