Description
Peloso was a small Italian manufacturer from Alessandria, a city somewhere between Turin and Milan. He concentrated on high-end custom made bicycles and therefore the production was very limited. And so it is rather hard to find early beautiful Peloso bikes and frames these days.
The high-end approach is also visible in our Peloso Artisan road bike from the 1960s.
This bike was built on the basis of a frame which was made from lightweight Columbus tubes. The steel structure has then been covered with a beautiful classy paintjob and equipped with some of the finest parts you could get back then.
Many parts are from the 1st Generation Campagnolo Record series. Others like the pedals, stem or saddle are just top notch.
Not only has the handlebar been wrapped in cotton cloth, but also subsequently been treated with several layers of shellac!
The excellent parts on a brilliantly executed frameset form a racing bike that would have been one of the best money could have bought you in the 1960s.
On top, it radiates more dignity and taste than a dozen British gentlemen at a tea party.
This is a bike which is almost nicer to look at than to ride - and not because it does not ride well.
Certainly a bike for connoisseurs.
