Description
Peugeot was one of those early bicycle manufacturers which grew big and successful during the 20th century. Their first bike was already built around 1882 but their reputation grew mainly due to their racing activities from 1903 until 1983.
In this time they managed to win the Tour de France 10 times and a number Championships, Classics and one day races. Who has not seen the pictures of Tom Simpson and Eddy Merckx, winning the World Championships 1965 and 1967 on a Peugeot?
This particular Peugeot PR 10 is one of such glorious bicycles. It stems from 1973 and is therefore one of the early models. The frame is made of double butted Reynolds 531 tubes and what first attracts your sight are the black painted head lugs, one of the recognizing features of an early PR10. The paintjob is original and is still nicely preserved.
Regarding the components, most of them are still original like Simplex shifting, Mafac brakes, Normandy hubs or Mavic rims.
It has been fully inspected in our workshop and it's ready to hit the roads. A true classic which will surely appeal to all fans of black and white checkered Peugeot style.
