Description
Peugeot was one of those early bicycle manufacturers which grew big and successful during the 20th century. Their first bike was already built around 1882 but their reputation grew mainly due to their racing activities from 1903 until 1983.
In this time they managed to win the Tour de France 10 times and a number Championships, Classics and one day races. Who has not seen the pictures of Tom Simpson and Eddy Merckx, winning the World Championships 1965 and 1967 on a Peugeot?
This particular Peugeot PY10 Super Competition from 1980 is one of those splendid bicycles. The frame is made of the legendary and race-proven Reynolds 531, but here the walls have been drawn to a thinner gauge.
This bicycle arrived in our shop in exceptionally good and original condition. So it not just looks stunningly well preserved, but it also still has almost all original parts on. You will find high class and beautifully made Spidel branded parts, which were supplied by Stronglight, Simplex, Mafac and others.
Top class Peugeots are very popular amongst collectors and the ones well preserved as this one are a rare opportunity. Completely checked in our workshop, this PY10 is ready to ride.
