Description

Giovanni 'Nani' Pinarello, born in 1922, was quite a successful amateur rider in the era of Coppi, Bartali and Bobet, with loads of won races which eventually earned him a contract as a professional.

The year of 1953 then saw him making a dream come true, by using money - which he got as a compensation for handing over his starting place in the Giro - for the setup of a bicycle shop and manufacture in his hometown Treviso.

From then on Pinarello bikes became more and more famous, more and more refined.
In 1975 the company finally achieved its first Giro d'Italia victory. And today there are not many brands with a similar number of triumphs in big races.

An absolute top class bike, the Pinarello Montello was their top of the line machine from the mid 1983s to the 1990s.

The Pinarello Montello certainly is one of the most beloved classic racing bicycles of all time.

Recognising a true Montello is as easy as falling in love with it at first sight. Like our exemplar with its great features shows, the main details on this Italian racing machine are the bridgeless and specially formed bottom bracket shell, the internally routed rear brake cable, the Columbus SLX tubing and the attention to detail.

Back in the day - just as nowadays - this road bicycle was well-known for its stiffness, comfort and reliability. This top model of the company from Treviso is equipped with Campagnolo C-Record parts, including fine pantographed shifters, a bit of rare century finish and iconic Delta brakes.

The typical Pinarello extravagance together with these top notch parts make for an impressive appearance.
A dream ride for any vintage bike enthusiast
