Pinarello Radius Road Performance Bicycle 1990s

Cicli Pinarello S. p. A. is one of the most recognisable names in the history of cycling. Founded in 1952 by Giovanni ‘Nani’ Pinarello in Treviso, Italy, Pinarello is responsible for some of the most important and revolutionary frame technologies in cycling.

This model is a 1990s Pinarello Radius - an authentic racing machine. The frame is made of Radius tubing, consisting mainly of light and strong Dedacciai 18MCDV6HT steel tubing, used for professional racers. What makes it so unique is the way how the tubes are welded together. The top and down tubes have a special cloverleaf forming, making the contact area of the tubes larger and the frame stronger. It was very demanding for the frame builder to make the welds perfect resulting in very high prices for the customers and not many were made. The seat tube is also slightly ovalized towars the bottom bracket. Perhaps not that known is the fact that this design has been developed for Pinarello by one of the most influential frame builders of the 90s - Dario Pegoretti.

This top performance frame has to be equipped with parts that fit and the Campagnolo Chorus 9-speed is just the gruppo for the job. Paired with Mavic Open Pro rims, 3ttt cockpit and matching Pinarello saddle it is a proper racer from the 90s.
