Pinarello Team Telekom TT Bike Fagnini

Gian Matteo Fagnini was one of the really talented professional riders during the second half of the 1990s and early 2000s.
Though strong enough to win stages and one day races (like two stages at the Giro d'Italia 1998), he committed himself to the role of a first class domestique to sprinting stars.
The most famous riders which he supported in their successful sprinting career were Mario Cipollini and Erik Zabel. That way he spent many years in the ranks of squadra Saeco and the Team Telekom

And the bike we are offering here is just one of his bikes from the Telekom era. It is a time trial version which was used for training and on special occasions - for example during the German "Deutschlandrundfahrt" of 2002.

The bike itself consists of Pinarello's lightweight and rigid Aluminium frame with 'mega' downtube and Carbon fork on one hand, plus a Campagnolo Record groupset with Ghibli disc and Shamal front wheel on the other hand.
To help Fagnini tuck into aero position, the cockpit has been formed by a Cinelli Angel time trial combination. (Note the stealthy 3T decals on the cockpit!).

Altogether the parts form a pretty light and competitive tt bike which is very well rideable.
But it is a nice collectible piece of pro cycling memorabilia, too!
