Description
Sante Pogliaghi is undoubtedly one of the best Italian frame builders of the post Second World War times. Many champions as Eddy Merckx and countless others rode with his frames, the frame builder from Milan was well known for his skills in building customised steel frames. Despite the fact that he mainly built track frames and tandems, Pogliaghi´s frames were also highly esteemed among road racers.
He can easily be considered the grandfather of modern road bike design who inspired many others like Colnago or Pinarello.
Here we feature one of his stunning road bicycles. According to the frame number - No. D366 - and the letters - PSM (Pogliaghi Sante Milano) engraved on the seat lug, this frame stems approximately from mid 70s. Interesting detail is the bottom bracket with 7 holes.
As for the equipment, you will fined the top level Campagnolo Nuovo Record parts. Some of them like the chainring and brake levers have been modified by drilling.
The perfect bicycle to participate in L´Eroica as well as to enrich any serious collection!
