Description
In Northern Spain, between Pamplona and Bilbao, cycling manufacture had a stronghold from early on.
So it was no coincidence that it was there, in the municipality of Altsasu, where a family decided to found a bicycle manufacture.
In 1969, five family members threw all their knowledge and connections into one pot and created Razesa. A bicycle brand which should become synonymous with the finest Spanish road bikes.
Already from the beginning, they were dedicated to high-end racing frames and bicycles.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s Razesa started to sponsor their own pro teams, but it was in 1990 that they landed their real coup by equipping the cycling team Banesto with their bikes, thus having champions like Delgado and Indurain ride their frames to glory.
This Razesa stems from 1980s and it's a beautiful piece of framebuilding. It consists of top level Columbus TSX tubes with full-length helical reinforcements - perfect choice for large size frames. The frame is very well made and with some almost extravagant details like the complex seatpost clamping which is generously chromed just as the lugs. And of course we shouldn't forget the Cinelli "Spoiler" bottom bracket.
What makes this bike to stand out is however the paintjob. It shines in deep purple cromovelato paintjob - a combination of smooth chrome plating and a translucent paintjob.
As for the parts, it is equipped with Campagnolo Athena parts with 3ttt cockpit and Mavic clincher rims.
