Description

In 1973 the managers of the prestigious ITLA team reached out to an excellent craftsman who had been a master framebuilder for Colnago for many years: Mario Rossin. After a short time of planning, they decided that Rossin should build the bikes for the team and at the same time a new brand with his name should be born.

Not much later, in early 1974, Mario Rossin started to build the first frames under his own name.
Naturally the first batch of Rossin bikes went to the ITLA team.
Deriving from their design, the Rossin Record was born. An absolute top class racing machine of its time which was already so well developed that it was successfully built and used for 10 years with only minor changes to the design.

Then, in the 1980s bicycle tech became more adventurous and Rossin became pretty famous for his special designs, including bikes for olympic games and world championships. And when the mountainbiking and bike trekking hype started to kick off, Rossin responed as well. One of the frames which derive from that era is what you can see here:

The fillet brazed construction is as stable as it is clean looking. Smooth beautiful lines and elegant tubing are perfectly matched. When we got this frameset, we decided to refurbish the paint and build it up as a neo-retro Randonneur with new and NOS parts.

The outcome is a bike which is excellently balanced when it comes to form and functionality. A Campagnolo shifting makes sure that you can rely on the technical part of your ride and a compact crankset turns you into an alpine pass hunter. Supple 32mm tires let you glide over tarmac and our handbuilt top class wheels keep you on track while mudguards protect you from surprising rain showers. High quality lights keep you and the road ahead visible, a rear rack allows for some extra luggage and all the other parts won't disappoint, too.

This bike is perfect for covering longer distances at a higher speed with a bit of gear. It would, of course, also serve you well as a top notch commuter.
