Description
Umberto Scapin started building racing bicycles in 1957 in Piove di Sacco (Padua, norther Italy) and dedicated his whole life towards the production of high-end and refined steel frames. However not a mainstream brand, Scapin bicycles are nowadays really renowned amongst collectors worldwide.
As most of the Italian frame builders, Scapin committed to manufacture not only durable and performing frames, but also elegant and beautiful ones, adjectives which must accompany every Italian bicycle. And this Scapin Classic Racing Bike from the 1980s is no exception.
Built with reliable Columbus Aelle, this Scapin frame has a serious racing geometry and a wonderful blue paintwork.
This very elegant road bicycle is in very good, original condition and is furthermore equipped with a complete Campagnolo groupset, including Campagnolo Moskva rims and on top a Scapin branded ultra-lightweight Omas headset. Simply the best of everything. You can also find nice pantographs on the seat stay caps, the fork crown, seatpost, stem and crankset - which shows the attention to detail which is typical for Scapin.
If you are looking for a typical elegant Italian road bicycle to take part in historic cycling events, this Scapin will not disappoint you!
