Description

Stelbel is an Italian brand founded in 1973 by STELio BELletti. Undoubtedly one of the most creative and skilled frame builders of the 20th century, Stelio Belletti learned the process of TiG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas) from his father Antenore, a planes fuselages welder.

He was a very talented craftsman, and as it happened, in the 70s Mr. Belletti had the idea of using TiG welding to build bicycle frames without lugs, becoming a pioneer of this manufacturing in the bicycle industry.

This Stelbel is made of Columbus tubes which were specifically designed and made for Stelbel TiG welded frames. The fabrication of his famous fork alone is said to have taken several days.
This unique frame not only illustrates the typical creativity and thoroughness of Mr Belletti works with austere and clean lines...

...Two things make this custom built bike stand out even more than the neat welding seams:
The bottom bracket area is stabilised and aerodynamically optimised by fins. And the shifting is executed in a way that makes use of an asymetric lever setting. The front derailleur is operated by a downtube shifter, whilst the rear derailleur is accessed via a bar-end lever.
This setup is useful for time trials as well as climbing - basically in any situation where the fine tuning of the gears would break your rhythm.

Regarding the components, this Stelbel is equipped with a Campagnolo Record groupset and a set of everybody's favourite Modolo brake levers.. Fully serviced by our mechanics in Berlin, the bike is ready to be ridden.

The right choice for demanding collectors. For true connoisseurs!
