Description
Here we present a classic road bicycle from Anton "Toni" Redl senior, expert artisan of the last century from Munich, Germany.
Our Redl Altmann Road Bike from the 1960s is a top class machine of its time.
Redl, the frame building legend from Bavaria started constructing bikes as early as the 1930s. He somehow made it through the Nazi-times unharmed despite being 'not on good terms' with the regime, to say the least.
Immediately after the war he started to build bikes again and became one of the most popular experts in southern Germany. Amateur world championships were won on his bikes, so their toughness is as proven as their beauty is obvious. So it was no surprise that the leading sports house of southern Germany, Altmann, teamed up with Redl, for a small elite model line
The frame of our bike is made of Reynolds 531 tubes and Nervex Professional lugs.
It is equipped with the best late 1960s components. First of all the complete Campagnolo Record shifting, hubs and seatpost and bearings. Kind of special is the early Nuovo Record derailleur with its 'Patent' mark.
And we do not want to forget the iconic Universal Mod. 61 center pull brakes (It was not before 1969 that Campagnolo released the Record brakes).
Despite its age, this Redl is in very good condition and shows lots of refined details.
The perfect choice for connoisseurs and collectors.
Completely and thoroughly checked and lubed, this bike is ready to be ridden instantly.
If you are looking for a rare and beautiful 1960s bike for your collection or Eroica rides, it does not get much better than this Redl!
