Description

This beautiful Vignati Record Classic Road Bicycle comes from the shores of the Lake Varese in Northern Italy. Being located a few miles from Milan, this region has been soaked in talent as far as frame building is concerned. And our Vignati shows perfectly what a classy and classic road bike from that region would have looked like in the 1970s.
The tubing of the frame is the expectable Columbus SL one. The choice of almost every Champion back then. The lugs are plain but perfectly soldered. Beside some Prugnat-style lugs on the head tube, we find a remarkable bottom bracket shell with the typical cutout pattern which made Roto famous in later years.
As for the parts we find a Cinelli cockpit and seat and great working Universal brakes. The rest of the componentry is formed by the Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset which gave this model its name.
If you are looking for a decent 1970s bike with great riding qualities, this one will not let you down. It also is great for historic rides like L'Eroica.
