Description
Viner is a bicycle brand founded by VIviano NERozzi in 1947 in Pistoia, close to Florence (Italy). In the 1960s they started to sponsor teams and became pretty successful. In the 1970s a Dutch Team became world champions on Viner bikes. In the 1990s then, Viner was technical sponsor of such illustrious teams as Mapei.
Our bike is based on a Viner Special frame, which lives up to his name. Made from light and strong Columbus tubing, it shows very nice details like the
But it is only through the added parts that this bike becomes what it is:
An ultra-lightweight Eroica bike.
Most of the parts are light but none are the lightest of their time, so there are no compromises as far as the stability of the wheels is concerned for example. It would not be difficult to drop the weight of this bike some 400 grams more or go even lower. But we wanted the bike to be still rideable and look great, too.
Our Viner special is a great example to prove those wrong who think vintage steel bikes are necessarily heavy.
It weighs in at 7.65kg!
Nothing more to say.
