Description
May there be more famous bikes - it still is fair enough to say that the Wilier Triestinas are some of the most beautiful racing bicycles ever manufactured.
Their bikes became famous partly due to a flamboyant translucent paintjob on chromed frames.
These were usually orange and called "Ramata" amongst enthusiasts - Ramata, feminine for Ramato which in Italian means copper plated. The Wilier Triestina has always appealed to collectors around the globe like few other bicycles.
The paintwork is certainly the highlight of any Wilier Triestina Ramata: a translucent paint coat over polished chromed tubes - Columbus SL in this case.
This particular model dates back to the 1980s and the frame has been completely restored, thus in very good condition. Even though that Wilier Superleggeras are unified by this iconic paintjob, almost every frame is slightly different to another, when you take a closer look. This one has been upgraded by aero routing of brake and also shifting cable. You can spot the shifting cable dissapearing into the frame near the bottom bracket and then neatly surfacing just in front of the derailleur.
Regarding the components, this Wilier Triestina is equipped with nothing less than the top racing level groupset ot the time - Campagnolo Super Record.
The bike furthermore has been serviced in our workshop which means it is ready to be ridden!
Cycling heritage at its finest. Approved to take part in Eroica events worldwide.
