Description
Wilir Triestina can be lesser known than Colnago, Bianchi or De Rosa, but the sheer beauty of these copper colored bikes is definitely up there. Their bikes became famous partly due to a flamboyant translucent paintjob on chromed frames.
These were usually orange and called "Ramata" amongst enthusiasts - Ramata, feminine for Ramato which in Italian means copper plated.
Our Wilier Triestina classic road bike is based on a frame made of Columbus SL tubing, very light and stable and a first choice for competition frames for decades. Apart of the classic (and very fine) details, thre are some unusual solutions. Not just the rear brake cable, but also the shifting cable has been routed through the chainstay. And the precision with which this has been executed is stunning.
This special frame deserved also special components. It has been equipped with nothing less then one of the holy grails of classic componentry - Campagnolo 50th Anniversary groupset.
An outstanding bicycle which could be kept in a collection but will be a real headturner at any classic cycling event as well.
