Description
There are certainly better known brands to a broad public than Wilier. But when you will see one, you will know it. Partly because of the iconic fiery "Ramata" cromovelato paintjob, but also due to sheer beauty of these frames. There is no wonder, that vintage Wiliers are sought after and treasured by collectors all over the world.
This Wilier is even more intriguing though. It is a rare Wilier Triestina Cronometro time trial bike. Only a handful was made and the master frame builders in he Rossano Veneto factory made sure, that they were meticulously done.
The Columbus SL tubes have been assembled in an aggressive geometry for races against the clock. With the internally routed cables, shifters positioned inside the main triangle and ovalized seat stays, it should have sliced through the air like a knife.
And the equipment has been chosen for the purpose too. You will find the top level Campagnolo Super Record groupset many Wilier pantographed parts. On the tips of the bull horn bars are the very rare Super Record TT brake levers modified by Campagnolo for aero routing. An off course the set of disc wheels, further improving the aerodynamics.
An opportunity to own a rare racing machine like this doesn't happen every day. Simple mesmerizing.
