Description
May there be more famous bikes - it still is fair enough to say that the Wilier Triestina is one of the most beautiful racing bicycles ever manufactured.
Their bikes became famous partly due to riders like Fiorenzo Magni or Maurizio Fondriest. But what might have left an even deeper impression is their flamboyant translucent paintjob on chromed frames. These were usually orange and called "Ramata" amongst enthusiasts - Ramata, feminine for Ramato which in Italian means copper plated. In fact it was a reminiscence to some bikes which were actually copper plated in the 1940s.
The Wilier Triestina has always appealed to collectors around the globe like few other bicycles. The frame on this particular one is made of reliable Columbus tubes which make the bike robust yet still very light. These tubes are then connected by classic lugs. Of course, nice cutouts and engravings must not miss on a Wilier frame!
Our Wilier is a very well preserved piece which still sports the original paintjob and parts. And so apart of the top level Campagnolo Super Record groupset you will find the original Benotto bartape or Selle Royall CX saddle. Separate chapter are the brakes with very neatly customized central nuts.
A truly authentic 80s road bike which will enrich any classic collection.
